I didn’t run today, today was the first day I gave my shin split riddled legs a rest.  I am pretty proud that I stuck so well to jogging, but I want to be able to continue so I made sure to take a rest to rebuild and do some more stretches.  Looking forward to my jog tonight.  It’s crazy how I only jog maybe a mile but because of the altitude change it feels like 5 miles…

Today was synonymous with mischief here at Alliance Redwoods.  Whether it was fighting each other in Hanging with friends (username: ccmbryce), playtng tricks on each other with our various electronic devices or getting students to do crazy things on video (i.e. lick dirt) it happened today.

Hanging with friends – throughout the course of the week 7 or 8 staff / counselors have downloaded this app.  It’s basically Hangman by the creators of words with friends.  It start off civil using normal yet difficult words (thorax, funky, ghouls) and became almost vindictive in nature using words such as (mynah, plinths, milted).  Eventually everyone gave up on playing fair and teams of people were working on solving other peoples word, some people used anagram software to get ridiculous words and others just grew frustrated “milted isn’t even a word!  I looked it up!”  There you have it folks, hanging with friends ruins friendships…

Electronic Tricksters – Jared Huntsinger youth pastor at Rancho Murietta inserted a short paragraph on my last blog post which I had lazily left open on my unprotected laptop.  I retorted by setting all applications to load upon startup of his computer.  He retorted by reading through my latest devotional in a heavily sarcastic “holier than thou” voice, taking something I was proud of and making me feel ashamed of it.  I came back with setting David Hasselhoff as the background on his iPad an encouragement for some, a nightmare for others.  It’s all in good fun, like I said, sometimes it’s good to be ridiculous.

Licking Dirt – It amazes me what kids will do to get on video.  Some kids just do cartwheels or get sprayed by water.  Other kids, the more extreme kids will volunteer to lick the dirt.  If the old addage “God made dirt and dirt don’t hurt” is to be believed than they’ll be fine.

Yesterday was a good day overall.  But on a more serious not to anyone reading this.  One of my best friends Grace Chatfield, the FIELD in CoolFIELD, experienced a family tragedy 2 days ago.  Her uncle was in a motorcycle hit and run in which he lost his life.  If you could please pray for their family, pray that justice is done to the man who has been arrested and that her dad Geoff would have peace as he deals with the loss of his brother and has to make plans for his brothers children and the funeral service.  It’s a hard time, they need support.

In Christ,
Bryce
