Quick Life Update

By October 5, 20132 Comments

For those of you who are curious, I’m doing well.  August 15th of this year was a big day.  I hung up my metaphorical youth pastor hat and put on my creative designer, publishing hat.  I’ve been at Cordova Neighborhood Church for my whole life, all 31 blissful  years.  It’s been a blessing, I can’t imagine beginning in ministry anywhere else.  But, there are times when changes are needed and that time came for me around May of 2013.  It took a lot for me to make this decision.  The hardest thing for me has been leaving my youth kids, friends and family at CNC.  Not that I live far away, in fact, I still live only 5 minutes away but now I’d have to go out of my way to see them.  It’s just a change and change can be very difficult on everyone involved.

Anyways, I started at Church of the Foothills as their E-Publishing Coordinator on September 3rd, 2013.  Basically I do all design and upkeep for any of their digital publications: audio, video, app, website, documents, etc.  Sounds like a blast right!?  Actually, it is I love doing it.   I love getting to support God’s ministry using creativity to bless ministry leaders and remain semi-anonymous while doing it.  Over the past month I’ve felt much less stressed, more at ease and grateful for this new place God has put me and my lovely wife Bethany.  That’s not to say it’s not bittersweet at times, but the sweetness outlasts the bitterness.

One of the disappointments has been the CMA’s inability to complete my ordination because I am no longer in an active pastoral role.  I understand their reasoning behind this but it was a big bummer…  If only my appointment was two months earlier.  In the end, I don’t need to be ordained to minister the Gospel.  Regardless what I do I will disciple people, I will share the Gospel, teach theology and bare witness to His name.  If at some point God calls Bethany and I back into a pastoral role the ordination process is all but complete.  Until then, I’m satisfied with where God has brought us.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers, encouragements and help over the years.  You have been a huge blessing.

Have a blessed day,

Bryce

Gods got his plan for each one of us, even though it may not be were we want to be, at that point. Right?
